WAR

Updated: Oct 26, 2023

anyone considered we're on the brink of WWIII? Some people think we're already engaged in it. When Trump was running for President the left and their media warned us Trump would take us into WWIII.

Joe was the right alternative. He'd keep us out of war. There were ppl who bought it. Joe has us in a terrible situation and on the brink of WWIII to boot.

There was a time in my life i was a total pacificst. i did my little part to protest the war in Vietnam. A freind and i were passing out our articles that opposed the war on college campuses. The students were the people you wanted to engage with or so we thought.

That was it. Just the 2 of us-no major protests. We would never have engaged in violence; we didn't even do the group protest thing. I attribute this naivete to being young and dumb.

Eventually though the Vietnam War was so opposed it ended anyway. The darndest thing is that i ended up dating 2 men who had served in Vietnam. I was just out of high school One an army guy. Didn't go well.

i had 0 interest in becoming a farmer's wife. i'm not knocking it at all.

It just wasn't my cup of tea. i wasn't farm girl material. Never have been.He was very enthused about the lifestyle he was so ready to embrace. He knew what he wanted to do the rest of his life.

i think in most cases you have to grow up on a farm to be suited for it. It takes a very special kind of person. The other guy i dated was a 'Marine.

i fell in love. As for war-the one we were involved in was over so i didn't give it much thought anymore. We had more in common than me and army guy.

Side note; the army guy was 1 date at a local zoo. He was a very nice man and i'm sure he met the right person soon enough. He deserved that.

Since then i've had a change in perspective. For one, i'm not a total pacifist. It's not realistic. A country has to be able to defend itself.

I'm not a Rand Paul isolationist . Isolationism doesn't work well. Nation building is not the answer either. It doesn't work well.

Biden's policies are pathetic. It's why were in the mess we're in now. Biden may not say it but he's using appeasement with people who smell weakness and use it to their advantage.

His administration insists that Isreal use porportionality. He does not understand what it means.

i may be wrong too because i believe It means not using any more force than is necessary so it matches the force the enemy is using. This is how i understand it. I could stand corrected but i definitely know Joe is wrong.

If we're considering getting involved in conflict here's some things we should consider before we do.Questions we should ask.

  1. is victory even possible?

  2. what is the goal? what is it we can acheive military then wrap it up? Is there an exit? If we're apt to get stuck and not be able to claim victory what's the point? We're not trying to kill as many people as possible. Our ultimate goal is to end the conflict. There are people who only get this message through military defeat.

  3. what are the possible consequences? Will there be mass causalties on our side? We have to think about we could go wrong that we haven't ever considered. Remember Rumsfeld and his well known "we don't know, what we don't know." There are plenty of things that could go wrong no matter how prepared we are-we need to consider the unforeseen.

  4. That's the next question; ARE we militarily prepared? i'm going to say no. Our enemies have been training. We've been busy getting our military to go woke. Our recruitment numbers have suffered. People are enlisting to get transgender surgeries. Joe Biden has wrecked our military .i can envision the restrictions he would put on our soldiers too. If you can't fight to win, don't fight. The enemy will.

  5. our enemies don't fear us. Joe appears weak. The morale among our soldiers would be low.Strong leaders are inspiring.

  6. let's not do nation building anymore. We go to win a battle and leave. If the people of a country want change let them go after it. It's not our place to convince people how we think they should run their own country and how they should live. Nation building has been for the most part a failure. People who work towards acheiving their own destiny as they see it are more apt be successful. We keep trying to get foreign countries to adapt to our culture, our traditions, our way of doing things when they have a totally different way of life.

  7. George W. Bush Sr was sharp. He set an objective. We would kick the Iraqi's out of Kuwait then leave. He gave our military pretty much free reign to do what they needed to do. He let the military do what the military does and stayed out of it. When they acheived their goal they stopped short of Baghdad and left.He gave the military all the support they needed. The Gulf War was a short lived war. Our military was finally given the respect they deserved that they never got with Vietnam.I can't say any of the above for his son George W. Bush Jr. Sorry, not going to touch that one with a 10 ft pole. The end result is we learned what not to do.

i hate to even say what i think about our getting involved in an all out war right now with Biden in the White House. IMHO it wouldn't go well.

Trump had our military built up. I'm not sure we're even close to that level anymore.i can't say we're not-don't know.

The woke garbage wasn't good for the military. You focus on being prepared for battle and getting the training to go with it.

You want troop unity. i don't see how that happens when you have to be wondering about the person next to you.You want to go into battle to fight for your country not some crazy ideas they're trying in civilian life.

i worry that as good as our military was we might get our butts kicked now and Biden would have them fighting w/ one hand tied behind their backs.

The best weapon we have right now is prayer. Pray for our country.Pray for President Trump. Pray for the nation state of Israel. i hope we can survive until 2024.

Finally, here's to the first love of my life-i haven't forgotten you "Bud". We met on St. Patrick's Day March 17 listening to one of the local bands at a pub. They had a lot of garage bands back in the day you could see live. Would you believe i can still recall what he was wearing that night? He hadn't been back from 'Nam and lived in civilan life for that long.

Thank you for your service to our country. I'm proud of the purple heart you earned. i'm sorry i was young and dumb when we met. We might have had a good life together. Sorry to say I'll never know here in this life.
