it would have to come down to this: a President would not actually have immunity while they were in office. Or they would have to assume that immunity vanishes AFTER they leave office and they would think twice about anything they say or do while in office. It would strip the executive branch of the power it needs to effectively govern the country. You could also safely assume that their political opponents would act against them even more aggressively. If the Dems want to set this precedent more power to them because Biden will be leaving office soon enough and no doubt would get nailed the minute his little toe went out the White House Door. If not him, ANYONE, irregardless of party.

What Chunkin is trying to do is a real bad idea. Maybe someone explained this to her and she's having 2nd thoughts?
