A Righteous Journey (or why Andrew would have loved Trump)

From the Conservative Tree House:

Andrew Breitbart was well known in the grassroots Tea Party movement for his ability to turn Alinsky psychological weapons against those who deployed them. In fact, the gift that Breitbart carried was not Andrew’s snarky counter approach toward the Obama teams tactics, but rather his ability to understand the purpose of their approach. This naturally gifted insight always made Andrew a threat.
Well before the Obama Marxists fully activated their weaponized government, Breitbart saw the Alinsky “methods” for what they were, the same tactics deployed by professional abusers. He knew we were headed into an era where “We the People” were in an abusive relationship with government.
In essence, Andrew Breitbart understood that if this tribe of Chicago Marxists were successful in the constructs of the government they envisioned, they would manipulate American politics in much the same manner that an abuser would intimidate, threaten and eventually control their victims. Better yet, Breitbart inherently knew how to defeat them and their predictable gaslighting.

Andrew Breitbart-God rest his beautiful young soul-had his unique journey from academic liberalism to conservative principles.

He was a huge influence on my own journey from a free spirited liberal to the conservative movement. You can't use young and dumb as an excuse forever.

My parents remained Kennedy Democrats their whole lives. My mother thought the world of Hillary Clinton. My mom was in her late 70's. There was no changing her mind.

When i turned 18 i was going to vote for Robert Kennedy, i protested the Vietnam War and by gosh men had no business telling women what to do with their own bodies.

Abortion gave us the freedom to choose.

Strangely enough it was the issues of war and abortion that started me down the path to conservatism.

When Iraq invaded Kuwait it was our military that liberated Kuwait. You had to respect them.I saw our military in a whole new light.

Mind you i never criticized the military.I was simply a total pacificist who opposed ALL wars. Our servicemen were treated horribly when they returned from Viet Nam. [It would be years before they were given the honor they deserved]. It was shameful and i do feel guilty for being part of it at least indirectly.

I also realized that while war is a terrible solution there are situations where it can be justified. My days of total pacificism were over. We can talk interventionism vs isolationism another day.

As for abortion this was a real epiphany. The rhetoric ignored reality.

Who could not be for women's rights? Who could oppose the freedom to choose?

I couldn't help but notice the only choice on the table was abortion. There was no mention of keeping the baby or adopting the child to a family who wanted children. It was always about getting an abortion without any restrictions.

It also wasn't rare as advertised.

The last straw was the confirmation hearing for Clarance Thomas. George Bush nominated him for SCOTUS.

He was a good man with a brilliant mind. The Democrats set out to totally destroy him on live tv in front of the whole country. Joe Biden was the nastiest. Why? Thomas was pro life.

These pro abortion Democrats are the most intolerant people i have ever seen. In his book "Righteous Indignation", Breitbart notes the Thomas  hearing as the catalyst for his getting away from liberal ideology. So that made 2 of us.

I have to believe now that Andrew would have loved the MAGA movement and Donald Trump. MAGA is the tea party with muscle and Trump is the leader the Tea Party wasn't fortunate to have. Andrew was very involved in the Tea Party movement and supportive of Republican candidates.
