Are there more than 2 genders? If your answer is yes, then you are a progressive. Some progressives were in school long enough to be dumbed down to believe it; others are gullible. There are some who are sharp in all the wrong ways and those are the dangerous ones. They're willing to do anything for the cause.
I'll sum up Marxism as i see it-an ideology that searches for a utopia that doesn't exist. First it's romanticized, then it goes to revolution anends up with a totalitarian state to enforce what they believe.

Remember what Pres. Trump said in his State of the Union address 2019? He promised the Unieited States would never be a socialist nation. By 2025 i think he-along with his supporters-realized they had bypassed socialism and went straight to Marxism (communism). How on earth did it make its way into the United States of America a free & constitutional republic with representative government?
I remember Nikita Kruschev at the U.N. pounding a shoe on the table promising the Soviet Union would bury us. The 60's was the perfect opportunity. We got through the Cuban Missle Crisis at least (barely). What i loved about the 60's was the music, creativity & free thinking.Still do. How about giving the new ideas the scrutiny the 'old' ideas were given? It wasn't all peace & love either.
The Weather Underground aka Weatherman sprung out of the SDS*. The Black Panthers were the antithesis of MLK's non violent civil rights movement.We witnessed the assassinations of Pres. Kennedy, his brother Robert, Rev King and Malcom X.
Madalyn Murray O Hair brought suit over the policy of mandatory school prayer and Bible reading in Baltimore schools and won. The Supreme Court ruled it unconstitutional citing the 'separation of church and state'. She basically declared war on Christianity & our culture.
I am not going to get into how Christianity was the foundation of Western Civilization but it is worth mentioning the U.S. was founded upon Judeo-Christian values.The 60's icon John Lennon wrote a very popular song called Imagine. IMHO the melody was perfect but the lyrics left a lot to be desired. If you wanted to describe the utopian dream of the 60's "Imagine" is its anthem.
I can explain the gist of the lyrics in one sentence. Everyone will get along because nobody believes in anything at all anymore.
The leader of the Weather Underground (like many of his compatriots) William Ayers eventually became a professor in the position of indoctrinating future revolutionaries. Ayers beat a rap* and settled in the city of Chicago where he & a future POTUS crossed paths. Obama made a point of mentioning his gravitation towards Marxist professors in his autobiography Dreams of My Father;who happened to BE a Marxist.
For those reasons you can't tell me these 2,Pres Obama and Ayers, didn't end up chums.

I'm convinced that it was the open minds and thoughtlessness of the 60's time period that led to the point were at now. It didn't take us there at the time but it led us there eventually.Obama told us his election would mean the fundamental transformation of America.
The Republican party put up their Rino Mitt Romney and expected he would beat Obama. He didn't have a snowballs chance in hell. Let's be honest, McCain ran a terrible campaign. I wasn't even going to mention him.
Obama was a tough one to beat.I've never been sure anyone could have beaten him but why send out the worst?
Thank God Donald Trump decided to come down the escalator and announce his candidacy. He totally destroyed 3 opposing liberal candidates:
Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.Let's give credit where credit is due.
We all know that's not enough but it was no small feat given everything they threw at him and still are.
