How Far Does Free Speech Go? (tricky question isn't it?)

Let's lay down markers we all agree on first.
Free speech is a protected right in the United States. The 1st Amendment to the Constitution says so:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
There are people who will say that means no limits at all.
You can say something that offends me and i can say something that offends you. TRUE. We are bound to offend someone but the offended has 2 choices; ignore the comment or respond in disagreement. It works both ways.
Let's say someone is offended and that person is offended enough to call for the murder or harm to the offender. Protected? The President gets a death threat-what happens? The authorities investigate to see if it's a credible threat. Protected speech calling for violence?
Let's say the media is lying about the President. Protected? To this day there are people who believe (or want to believe. take your pick)that Pres Trump was or even is a Russian agent for Putin.
It was exposed to be a plot by some agents in the FBI, the previous administration and aided by the media. It was the same media running cover for Joe Biden. Is the lie that was part of an orchestrated COUP protected speech?
Here is a special circumstance that has just happened. Employees of certain companies have celebrated or supported the MURDER/ASSASSINATION of Charlie Kirk. Yes, they're speech is a protected right and they can say what they want. Their EMPLOYERS fired them.
Yes, the employer has the right to fire them. It's a private company they have agreed to work for and as a private company they are permitted to set their own standards. Can they break discrimination laws?
No.This has nothing to do with discrimination law but even if it did it would be handled by the courts. The government would have to prove discrimination. The employer would have to prove it wasn't.
Yes, the employees can say what they want-but the employer also has the right to fire them as a private company that has certain standards for its employees.
Now these employees have all day to exercise their right to free speech. The worst example i've seen are the teachers celebrating Kirk's murder in front of their students.
You and i both get why they were fired. i don't think i have to spell it out. Now they have 24 hr a day to celebrate all they want.[ i
would hope i don't have to spell it out].
Common sense, a few brains and human decency tells us that rejoicing in a murder reflects badly on any brand.
Ironically, Charlie Kirk was assassinated for exercising his right to free speech. He was not calling for murder or violence.
Discussion regarding the media deserves a whole category of its own. I have it in my head that news reporting needs to be protected speech. This is one of the most important institutions we have.
Their role is to keep our government honest and transparent.Their role is to inform the public of news that is relevant to us and our communities.
They have a very special cut out. Their sources are protected too so a whistleblower can come forward with info the public should be given .What we witnessed in 2016 was a corrupt government conspiring with a corrupt media.
Now we don't get the news. We're subject to propaganda to help support a government of their choosing even if they have to lie to do it.
When Trump was running in 2016 they were part of a conspiracy to derail his campaign with false information and then to overthrow his administration after he won the election-they were active in attempting a coup.
We've all seen what the media does. We get it. The question is do they have the right to do that-is it protected by the 1st amendment? They have slandered people and destroyed their lives. They almost overturned the will of the American people in an election but not for lack of trying. They are still trying.
Bottom line; they're abusing the right to free speech and freedom of the press. They should forfeit the protection the 1st amendment gives them.
Let's say i purchase a gun then use that gun to commit a felony
I lose the right to carry arms- anotherwords i forfeited the right protected by the 2nd amendment. I doubt you'd find a single Democrat who would disagree with that one.*
Freedom has responsibilities, actions have consequences.

You can do some research and get the exact amounts if you like but suffice it to say we know news anchors in the mainstream media make MILLIONS of dollars per year. You would think for that amount of money they would care about their integrity and delivering facts to the American people. Nope. They have become the enemy of the people.Don't they teach ethics in journalism?
i don't appreciate that they lie to the American people and abuse the protections they have, to push their own agenda. They've caused a lot of the problems our country has-they live isolated lives where none of it affects them.
Hear this message that was sent to President Trump through social media.
It's titled Will President Trump Do This for Charlie Kirk? The President reposted it on Truth Social-so yes he got it!
