When someone lies to the FISA court it's a crime.Here's the perfect example:
A former FBI lawyer pleaded guilty Wednesday to altering a document related to the secret surveillance of a former Trump campaign adviser during the Russia investigation.
Kevin Clinesmith is the first current or former official to be charged in a special Justice Department review of the investigation into ties between Russia and Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. Attorney General William Barr appointed John Durham, the U.S. attorney in Connecticut, to scrutinize decisions made by officials during that probe.
Clinesmith pleaded guilty to a single false statement charge, admitting that he doctored an email that the FBI relied on as it sought court approval to eavesdrop on former Trump campaign aide Carter Page in 2017.
The sentencing guidelines call for zero to six months in prison, but the punishment is ultimately up to U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, who accepted Clinesmith’s plea. Sentencing was scheduled for Dec. 10. Clinesmith resigned from the FBI before an internal disciplinary process was completed.
The case highlights broader problems with the FBI’s surveillance applications on Page, an issue that has long animated critics of the Russia investigation.
Charging documents filed Friday say Clinesmith altered an email he received in June 2017 from another government agency to say that Page was “not a source” for that agency, then forwarded it along to a colleague. The document does not say which agency, but Page has publicly said that he had worked as a source for the CIA.
The FBI relied on Clinesmith’s representation in the email when it submitted its fourth and final application to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to secretly eavesdrop on Page on suspicions that he was a potential Russian agent.
Carter was no such thing and they knew it.
When our intelligence agencies spy on an American citizen it is a crime.
If CNN's report proves true, those who lied will no doubt say, "We didn't wiretap Trump; we wiretapped Manafort." But that cutesy, specious logic comes up short, both legally and ethically. In tapping Manafort, they knew they were getting Trump's many intimate conversations with him. That's how they could go to FISA and say it wasn't about Trump, but about Manafort. It was in fact a roundabout way of getting Trump in trouble, possibly even impeached.
As the CNN report said, "The government snooping continued into early this year, including a period when Manafort was known to talk to President Trump."
And the wiretaps were used to feed the ongoing investigation of Robert Mueller of the Trump campaign's alleged ties to Russian interference in the 2016 election.
This, by the way, puts a new gloss on why President Obama did nothing at all when first presented with evidence in the summer of 2016 that the Russians might be hacking our election. It was a way to take down the Democrats' biggest threat, the unpredictable Donald Trump.
As has been noted previously, President Obama didn't have authority on his own to request a wiretap of a U.S. citizen. That requires the Justice Department. But that doesn't mean he didn't make it happen.
Admiral Mike Rogers-part of the Obama administration- stumbled upon abuses of the NSA; people were [illegally] accessing data. He knew something was up.
the Trump Dossier was not created to allow for spying on the Trump Campaign. The Dossier was created to obtain a FISA Warrant to cover surveillance activity that had already taken place.
That may well have been the origin of the Trump Dossier creation — to create a rationale for previous illegal surveillance activity. But heroic actions taken by Admiral Mike Rogers stopped the plan from being implemented. The FISA Court had been warned.
Our entire intelligence apparatus was weaponized to alter a Presidential Election,” it concludes. “The chain of activity may rise all the way to the top.
When you leak information like this to the media it is a felony.
Comey’s description that the Flynn-Kislyak phone calls appear “legit,” shorthand for “legitimate,” is also in the notes. Until this week, this exculpatory information was withheld from Flynn and his defense team, multiple congressional committees, and the American public. A lengthy campaign to illegally leak selectively edited defamatory information through media accessories damaged the Trump administration and spurred the appointment of a special counsel to investigate anyone associated with the Trump campaign.
The only actor in this whole cabal who faced criminal charges was Clinesmith. The Associated Press, reported that Clinesmith would be charged in a DC court with one count of making a false statement.
He pled guilty and was sentenced to 1 yr probation by
U.S. District Judge James Boasberg.
This is very revealing. A shakedown is a crime.
i've used this one before. What's a real hoot about this deal is it's the quid pro quo they accused Trump of-and never committed. Trump was impeached for it (the Ukraine phone call).
but Joe had nothing to do with his son's overseas business dealings.

Joe has to be the most corrupt 'president in our history and it's Trump who's the one being indicted.
Trump spoke the truth
Nothing-he only got a 10% cut of what Hunter made. He only showed up in pictures of Hunter's 'business' associates. His brother only sent him a $20,000 check. He only had a slew of LLC's that were not associated with any business at all. It's called racketeering. Nothing to see her though. Trump's crime? He questioned an election. It's why they waited till now to indict him.Great timing. Actually his real crime is that he's running against Joe. Had he sat it out nobody would have bothered.
Is intefering in an election a crime? IF it is Biden and a whole group of his syncophants are guility.
