Here's the ruling from the State of Colorado where they were trying to keep Trump's name off the ballot:

District Judge Sarah Wallace agreed with plaintiffs that Trump “incited” the Jan. 6, 2021, riots on the Capitol and could be disqualified using the 14th Amendment, but that the law’s wording means it does not apply specifically to the office of president.

The activist group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), four Republicans and two independent Colorado voters filed a suit in September pushing for Trump’s removal.

The lawsuit claims the former president’s actions related to the insurrection were in violation of the amendment, which stipulates that those who engage in acts of insurrection are no longer eligible to run for elected offices.

Here's my own takeaway from the whole story since the J6 tv production with Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger and Adam Schiff. The Democrats are having a hissy. They didn't mind so much when it was a selective showing and they could control the narrative.

1. there was no insurrection. no matter how bad the footage was that the committee showed the public it didn't rise to the level of an insurrection.An insurrection would be well planned, well executed and well armed(in most instances, not all)There was no manifesto, communication between various people or groups much less with the President & no actual plot . An insurrection demands some sort of plot-a commnication w/ others on how they would go about doing it and what to do if caught.

2. I did see a riot. A riot is basically spontaneous. An insurrection is usually well planned; either the perps know what they're doing or they don't but it's planned.

3. Pres Trump did not encite a riot or an insurrection.What makes me say that? Several factors. A. Some of the participants in the event at the Capitol were already there before Trump even started speaking. Some left his speech early and headed down. B. Trump clearly told the large crowd to protest peacefully and patriotically at the Capitol. He never directed anyone to go into the Capitol or confront anyone once they got there. His directive was short and to the point. C. The rally was advetised but there was no communication between Trump and his supporters to do anything other than join in the rally.

4. i have heard one opinion that Trump didn't encite an insurrection but that he did encite a riot because he made the crowd angry when he suggested the election was stolen. I'm sorry but that's bunk. Trump had questioned the election results from the beginning. Nothing new under the sun. Many of us questioned it ourselves but if doubting the election results counted as inciting a riot there would be a lot of other people in trouble. Some of us were very angry but Trump had nothing to do with it. We beleived it was a stolen election and would have believed that whether Trump did or not. BTW...i would never have resorted to violence or vandalism no matter how angry i was. That's dead. It doesn't help the cause,convince anyone you're right or convert ppl to your side. Am i a pacifist? Hardly, but violence and destruction of property doesn't solve a thing.

The 3 new pieces of information i got from the released footage-that the fake committee withheld-are that MOST of the people were peaceful. The sentences that were given out were outrageous & unjust. The people were deliberately labeled 'domestic terrorists" no matter what they did or didn't do. Last but not least, the police started firing without warning into a peaceful crowd.

1. Who was the President as of Jan 6? Who then was the CIC of the armed forces? You know the answer as well as i do. Trump. Who could have tried to pull off a military coup? Trump. Think about that for a second. Trump did contact Speaker Pelosi to request 20k National Guardsman as extra security because of the anticipated size of the crowd. Pelosi and Bowser refused. i'm sure he was concerned for his supporters too. What if someone would have attacked them? You have to wonder why Pelosi and Bowser would have said no to the request.She called em up fast enough AFTER Jan 6th. DC turned into a fortress.

2. Remember when Trump was sworn in. Was that a peaceful transfer of power? What happened that day? Was Antifa labeled a domestic terrorist group? Oh no, Biden called them an 'idea'. Well, idea was trying to burn down the city and attacking innocent people.
