My Reponse To Some DeSantis Supporters

They have to know i'm 100% behind President Trump's nomination-not budging. I'm MAGA to my core. I will be Catholic, Conservative and MAGA till the day i die. I will be voting for him come hell or high water.
Trump won over my head and heart in 2016. i proudly voted for him in 2016 and 2020 although it took a little convincing in 2016 to get me to vote for him as the Republican nominee.
Once he won me over that was it. MAGA all the way to the White House.Anyway, you get the picture.
As for their decision? It's up to them. Far be it from me to twist their arms. Back when McCain and Romney were running i couldn't bring myself to vote for either of them in our primary.
Herman Cain and Gov Huckabee were my choice in their respective races and they were still on the ballot in our state. i even got involved in Herman's campaign.
i was so gung ho for him i volunteered for his phone bank.i thought both candidates were fantastic.
When it came to the general i plugged my nose and reluctantly voted for McCain and Romney. It hurt deeply when Cain* dropped out but i accepted and moved on.
As for the Romney vote; he was such a total piece of work later on that i regretted voting for him at all. His concession speech was so humble and sincere that he earned my respect with it, only to lose it later.
Here's some facts though i hope they'll consider. Gov DeSantis won because of Trump's endorsement. He held 3 rallies for Ron and got behind his candidacy 100%. Ron was losing before Trump stepped in to help him.
Once Trump endorsed, the MAGA movement joined Trump in giving him their 100% support.
When Ron ran the 2nd time we got behind him again and even strongly supported Trump pick him for VP in his 2024 run for the White House.
Truth is Gov DeSantis was a shoe in for 2028. We had made up our minds that after serving with Trump in 2024 we would do everything under the sun to get him into the White House if he wanted it.
What the MAGA movement didn't expect was that the Governor would run against him in 2024. i had the feeling he was going to as soon as Trump left the White House.
He gave me the impression he would do it and he did. Back stabber is a deal breaker for me. It's a deal breaker for MAGA.
We do value loyalty. I think most people do. i know this is politics and back stabbing is usually par for the course [for these politicans anyway] but we expect better.
Honest to God, how could your candidate do this after what Trump and his supporters did for him and would have done for him? All he had to do was wait a few years. What did he call us? The people who got him into the governors mansion twice? LISTLESS VESSELS. i rate that right up there with Hillary's DEPLORABLES and Biden's ULTRA MAGA TERRORISTS.
When he was running for his 2nd term as Governor and Trump had already announced his run for his 2nd term i believe he had settled it in his mind to run against Trump. Could be wrong-i'm trying to read the man but i don't think so.
The question came up on the campaign trail but he would never answer. When he had the debate with Charlie Crist he had to be anticipating the question. You know THE QUESTION. Are you going to run against Pres Trump? If he wasn't thinking about it, he should have been and come up with some sort of diplomatic response. It's obvious now that he didn't even consider it.
I don't know what made him think it wouldn't get asked? Crist could have used it against him and the debate would be the perfect time to do it.
For that reason alone he should have been prepared. Again, DeSantis wouldn't answer. He looked perturbed. It was his non answer that was an answer.
You see, if he said yes the people of Florida would have wondered why he was wasting their time running for a 2nd term he didn't intend to fullfill and the MAGA ppl who supported him would have been furious and probably not voted for him.
IF he said no, knowing full well he was going to, he would have looked like a liar when he did announce.
Instead he got this annoyed look on his face and weasled his way out of it.
I understand that he had no choice. He was trapped. He couldn't really answer either way could he?
I wasn't surprised when he did announce. i'd been expecting he'd run all along;like i said, from the time Trump left office. He struck me as a ruthless opportunist then & if given the chance would take it.
Futhermore, when the FBI raided Mar A Lago DeSantis was silent. He should have defended Trump. Trump ran in the Republican party; it's not as if he was the Democrat opposition and Mar A Lago was in his backyard.
As for the question of extradition DeSantis had to know he would have no substantial involvement anyway. He did insinuate that Trump was guilty of criminal conduct. Talk about backstabbing; nobody could have shoved the knife in harder than DeSantis after everything Trump did for him.
The governor's only involvement is to look at the papers and make sure that the papers are proper to issue the warrant."

All Ron had to do was wait 4 yrs. He had all the goodwill of the MAGA movement that put him into office in the first place. He never intended to fullfill the obligation he had to the voters the whole time he ran.
Ronald Reagan had to try 3x before he won an election and by that time he was the oldest President we had, at least until Biden.
Four years was not a long time at all. Come 2028 he would have been able to run with his record as Governor, the MAGA movement solidly behind him and likely an endorsement from President Trump himself.
It was quite the buzz among MAGA about DeSantis as a possible VP pick for Trump.i know it was all we talked about next to Trump winning himself. We were definitely going to convince Trump to pick him as VP!
We talked about the DeSantis run for president in 28 about as much as we talked about the Trump re-election in 24. You certainly can't say we weren't fair to your candidate.
He chose to stab Trump in the back, throw away all our goodwill and pull the wool over the eyes of his supporters in Florida.
Now he's just sticking out the race hoping that Trump lands in prison or gets pulled off the ballots.
I know Trump attacked him but word got out that he was seriously considering a run against Trump.
It's not as if Trump attacked him first. In the beginning of Ron's first term i could never have pictured him running against Trump. No way. He'd never do that.Trump never attacks first. You attack him then you're going to get it back. He's not the usual Republican. They get attacked and they fold like a cheap suit.
Some people don't like that about President Trump but it's actually one of his strengths. Think about that for a second. You may get it.
After Trump left office DeSantis was starting to show his cards. It was subtle. If you didn't watch closely you didn't see it.
By the time Trump made his formal announcement i knew DeSantis was going to do it. i pegged him as a ruthless opportunist.
Trust me, i got flack from good people for saying it. i know people wanted to believe Ron wasn't capable. i didn't want to believe it either.
Now Ron is using the Democrat talking points against Trump. i've said plenty about the Governor-good and bad both-but i would never use the Democrats talking points especially against the candidate who looks to be our nominee.
If the polls continue the path they're on, the President WILL be the nominee-the other candidates have been consistently trailing him by miles.
There was a time when i gave Ron his props if i felt he deserved them but backstabber is a deal breaker for me and i know that's the case with Trump's base.
They're good people. You're loyal to them, they're loyal to you. This was a HUGE betrayal by DeSantis. Trump did more for him than most of the candidates he backed.
My response is this; do as you wish. Most people do irregardless of how other people react. It's a big decision and one we all take seriously.
i also know what it feels like to back a candidate when you put your heart and soul into it then they lose. It hurts.
i do want to stress this though. The stakes we face in election 2024 are not the same as when Cain,Huckabee,Romney and McCain were running.
It's not the elections of 2016 and 20 either. The election of 2024 is unlike any of the previous elections in our lifetime.
We're on the verge of economic collapse and WWIII. Violence has overtaken our streets. The threat of terrorism has risen dramatically, especially in just the last few weeks.
Our country is being invaded on our borders. Fetanyl is killing our citizens at an alarming rate.
Biden is destroying our country but i doubt a replacement would do anything differently. The left is radicalized and the Deep State is in control of all our institutions.
The Justice Dept and FBI are both corrupt and weaponized.
i would never push for unity behind any candidate to anyone if they couldn't in good conscience vote for him/her but i am going to make an appeal to your conscience to take a good hard look at the situation we're in; at least consider what i'm saying here.
He's the best poised to beat the Democrat but we need every single vote we can get.
I accepted the Cain and Huckabee losses to Romney and McCain. I accepted that Obama won both terms. i knew he was going to anyway.
It never looked too promising for our candidates. Obama had all the enthusiasm on his side. It matters. i voted for Romney and McCain in the end but not because anyone persuaded me.
i just couldn't envision an Obama presidency & race had nothing to do with it at all. The clincher was his statement about the 'fundamental transformation' of the country. Red Flag. However, he won legitimately so we had to accept it & survive the 8 yrs. If a Democrat wins this time we're not going to survive. The country as we knew it will be gone. There will be no getting it back.
So all i ask is that you think about those 3 things:1. the facts as they relate to the Trump-DeSantis relationship. Consider what DeSantis did to Trump and his supporters.
The same supporters that put DeSantis into office.2. The country we will lose if the Democrat wins.3. The nominee at the top of the pack and that happens to BE Pres Trump.

* IMHO, Herman Cain was the precursor to the candidacy of Donald Trump. God rest his soul. We lost him twice. He would have made a wonderful President.
