Ok. Let's take a look at the options he had:

Appease them like Biden and Obama did. Try to make buddies by handing them billions.

Ignore Iran.

Consequence is? Continue negotiations.

Consequence is?

Leave a strike off the table. What is a better plan?

Tighten sanctions.

Consequence is?

Play all these scenarios out and tell me how we will be safer. Consider how all these would play out. Keep in mind they are not like Russia who consider self preservation (MADD). Iran sends in people to do suicide bombings. Also remember they believe that world wide blood shed and death would bring about the return of their Mahdi-if they can speed up his return they will do it.
