The Elephant in the Room: COVID

Updated: Dec 15, 2023

Let's get this straight; neither Trump or Biden are responsible for Covid 19. The blame for the virus falls squarely on the CCP of China.

You can rightly call it either Covid or the China virus. It originated in China and that's how most viruses have been named ie the Nile Virus. Now that we know who to blame let's look at some other facts.

The sole purpose of the virus was that it would be used as a biological weapon.

It serves no other purpose.

We were blindsided by the pandemic. We had no real preparation for a virus like this one because it was being designed and created in a lab.

We didn't know, what we didn't know.

We had no data to look at, until after the fact.

Some of our responses were productive. Other responses we're a disaster.

Pres Trump had to tell the public and impress on them the seriousness of the pandemic-yet, he had to do this without sending them into a panic.

How do you tell the public the dangerous virus has hit our shores and not send them into a panic.

Furthermore, at first, the WHO and Dr. Fauci played down it's danger.

They were lying.

The World Health Organzation was trying to provide cover for the CCP. Fauci was trying to provide cover for his own involvement. [We'll get into that shortly].

Eventually they had to switch gears.President Trump set up the Covid Task Force and put his VP Mike Pence in charge of it.

Terms We Learned

Flatten the curve-they wore that one out. Some people took it to mean the virus would end. Actually it meant prevent a widespread outbreak so we wouldn't overwhelm our health care system.

Wet market-when they lied about the origins of the Covid virus as being transmitted from a bat to a human at a Chinese wet market.

They aren't known for their sanitary conditions and it seemed perfectly possible on its face-which is why they used it-but it was a total lie meant to cover up their lab.

Shut down/lock down-Nearly all U.S. states had declared a state of emergency in response to COVID-19.As of Mar 26,2020 22 states had issued stay at home orders.

It was like a shelter in place order with economic & social consequences.- IF you were infected and tested positive you were asked to quarantine and isolate. You may as well say REQUIRED to quarantine and/or isolate.

During the pandemic it was 14 days; they've narrowed it to 10.

Wuhan Lab-the real culprit where they were doing research and development of the Covid 19 virus.Fauci is going to figure into this one.

Herd Immunity-the Mayo clinic explains herd immunity.

"Herd immunity occurs when a large portion of a community (the herd) becomes immune to a disease.

The spread of disease from person to person becomes unlikely when herd immunity is achieved. As a result, the whole community becomes protected — not just those who are immune.

Often, a percentage of the population must be capable of getting a disease in order for it to spread. This is called a threshold proportion.

If the proportion of the population that is immune to the disease is greater than this threshold, the spread of the disease will decline.

This is known as the herd immunity threshold.

What percentage of a community needs to be immune in order to achieve herd immunity? It varies from disease to disease.

The more contagious a disease is, the greater the proportion of the population that needs to be immune to the disease to stop its spread".

Social Distancing-healthy people staying away from infected people; another words distancing ourselves from the sick or in the case of Covid someone who has either the symptoms of Covid or tested positive for Covid.

If i remember correctly the requirement was 6 ft. You can be around other people but you stay at the requirement. If you tested positive you had to quarantine or isolate yourself.

During the pandemic it was standard operating procedure so to speak. We can all remember the symbols in the grocery stores marking the distance between people. We're talking healthy people here, not the infected.

Variant-what a virus can mutate into. A virus needs a host to survive so it survives by mutating then it infects.

A variant can go one of two ways; either get more lethal or less, more contagious or less.

My husband and i caught the highly contagious and less lethal omicron. Actually he caught it then he gave it to me. We quarantined for 10 days.

From my experience-i won't speak for him-it wasn't fun but it was mild. Our pcp gave us both an antibiotic.Don't quote me but i think it was a 7 day, 2 on the first day antibiotic. Did it work? Think it did. It's hard to say whether the medication worked or if the virus simply ran its course.

We self quarantined when we came back home from the Cleveland Clinic. We hadn't tested for Covid or exhibited any symptoms but it was when the pandemic first broke out here and we had been around a lot of people, including people from other countries.

We did it to be on the safe side. He had to go to the Clinic for all his labs/test in prep for his open heart surgery. It's a long story. i'll skip it.

In short, he had a damaged mitral valve and 2 strokes.

Mask/vax-my husband had a vaccine and one booster. His pcp recommended it due to his comorbidities.

I assesed my own risk and it didn't come close to his so i took a pass. We supported each others decisions. i was sorry the virus was politicized.

i got tired of the crap online from both sides. I would never shame anyone on either side of the issue.

I will inject where i stood on it from the beginning. i wore one at the Dr. office out of respect for their rules at THEIR office. It wasn't that big a deal. i was never convinced the mask would prevent covid though.

Make up your own minds. i didn't like the mandates. It's a major health decision that everyone has to decide for themselves in consultation with their own pcp, not a one size fits all.

i never wore a mask except at the dr office where it was required and no harm done. Covid is not the only contagious disease. Could i have pitched a fit? No point in it. A doctor has no obligation to take a patient.

i always washed my hands and used sanitizer (due to my husband's condition)anyway.

GOF-stands for Gain of Function. The title says what it does.

Why does no one say it? The Corona virus or Covid is a biological weapon and whether it was released deliberately or not doesn't change its purpose.

It was meant to be a weapon at some point-if not this one. It's man made. A dead give away it was not from a bat.

Definition: "Gain-of-function (GOF) research is a type of medical research that genetically alters an organism in a way that may enhance the biological functions of gene products.

It involves the serial passaging of microorganisms to increase transmissibility, virulence, immunogenicity, and host tropism". Another words, designed to be a biological weapon.

Pres Trump's response

Pres. Trump bent over backwards to help all the Governors if they asked for it whether they were Republican or Democrat.

He used the Defense Product Act to get medical supplies up to speed-particuarly ventilators. It forced manufacturers to revamp their product into medical equipment.

"Trump also said he would deploy two Navy hospital ships to American cities hard-hit by cases of coronavirus and the respiratory disease it causes, known as Covid-19.

One, the USS Mercy, will be deployed to New York, Trump said. The president said his administration would soon decide where on the West Coast to deploy the other ship, the USS Comfort, which is based in San Diego".

He did both.

He turned to Dr. Anthony Fauci as an advisor. i'll refer to part of Fauci's background and why he was an adviser to the President re the pandemic:

"Dr. Fauci served as NIAID Director from 1984 to 2022.  He oversaw an extensive research portfolio of basic and applied research to prevent, diagnose, and treat established infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, respiratory infections, diarrheal diseases, tuberculosis, and malaria as well as emerging diseases such as Ebola, Zika and COVID-19.

He also led the NIAID research effort on transplantation and immune-related illnesses, including autoimmune disorders, asthma, and allergies.

Dr. Fauci advised seven Presidents on HIV/AIDS and many other domestic and global health issues.

He was one of the principal architects of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), a program that has saved more than 20 million lives throughout the developing world.

Dr. Fauci was a key advisor to seven Presidents and their administrations on global HIV/AIDS issues, and on initiatives to bolster medical and public health preparedness against emerging infectious disease threats such as pandemic influenza and COVID-19.

As an HIV/AIDS researcher he was involved in the scientific effort since AIDS was recognized in 1981, conducting pivotal studies that underpin the current understanding of the disease and efforts to develop therapies and tools of prevention".

It was nothing new. This is who any President would rely on. People do ask, why did he hire Fauci or why didn't he fire Fauci. My question, is did he have reason to at the time?

The President has to rely on someone with both knowledge and experience for a crisis such as a pandemic.

The President has neither. He has to rely on someone who does and up until this time Fauci was the go to because of his background.

I had issues with Fauci and am getting to them. My point so far is that Pres Trump did the best he could do given the circumstances and the lack of understanding of the new virus.

Our medical supplies were depleted under Obama and not prepared to handle a pandemic of this magnitude.

I'm thankful he left breathing room for the governors to make their own decisions re how to handle the pandemic in their state rather than federalizing every response.

i have to admit the first thought that came to my mind re the virus was the Spanish flue and i'm sure officials had that thought cross their minds.

Unfortunately i heard people saying they believed Covid was fake, until they were dying from it. Nobody should live in fear but we also have to use common sense.

Crisis like this should never be politicized. The first concern should always be the American people.

Wear a mask-don't wear a mask. i don't care. Get the vaccine-don't get the vaccine. i don't care.

I'm not going to argue with anyone re Covid but i want to be clear about 1 thing; it's real and we caught it.

Fauci

Now the issues with Fauci. He downplayed the virus at first. i could be wrong but i'm convinced he wanted to cover up as much as the WHO did albiet for different reasons. So of course he downplayed the danger of it.

When there was no way to avoid the reality of the situation he changed his tune and i think this confusion didn't help the public. It damaged his reputation.

We later learned that Dr. Fauci was funding the GOF research at the Wuhan Lab. It doesn't get any worse. NOBODY should be getting into the development of these, what i would call, super viruses that are biological weapons.

There is no good reason to be creating a deadly and contagious virus that can cause a pandemic.

For someone that had such a brilliant mind he certainly didn't use it for this one. There's the reason he should have been fired.

Operation Warp Speed

Now what about Pres Trump and his program Operation Warp Speed where he turned to the pharmacuetical companies to come up with a vaccine as quickly as possible.

i honestly don't blame Pres Trump for wanting to erdicate the pandemic as quickly as possible and by the looks of things we weren't going to get there with herd immunity.

Did it have some risks? Yes. Should it have been mandated? Absolutely not. For that very reason. It was a risk and everyone should be given the opportunity to asses whether or not it's worth the risk to them.

I believe that Trump did the best he could do during the crisis. i know he had to be very concerned about the American people and that was his driving motivation.

Anyone can look back in hindsight-especially now that we have the data we didn't have then-and decide what we could have done or should not have done.I'm convinced Pres Trump handled the pandemic as well as anyone could have. It was bad enough; it could have been worse.

i just wish the U.S. were proactive and prepared rather than being reactive. We always wait until AFTER a crisis to determine what we could have done.

i can give you 2 examples of this peculiarly American mindset on a local level.

Many years ago my babysister's grandmother was killed in a terrible car/train collusion. I will never forget it.

The town was in shock. After the accident they put up lights.signs, all kinds of ways to warn the public of the oncoming trains. If they had already done this the accident would never have happened. The spot was incredibly dangerous.

The other incident was a car accident waiting to happen. It occured at a local fast food where the parking was out front and people backed out from the spot. We lost several young people in one accident.

Again, our community was terribly shocked. They closed off the area to future use. Again, this could have been thought through and taken care of before the accident ever occured-prevention.There's usually signs that there's a problem. You think ahead and don't say it could NEVER happen.

Let's look at it on a national level. Remember the blind sheik and his blowing up the WTC? It was bad but not comparable to 9/11. However, it should have given the intel community a red flag. This was Al Qaeda. Why couldn't they add it up and conclude maybe it was just a test run for a future attack, something more devastating.

When i was just a kid the story was our town could never be hit by a tornado. People beleived it for 2 reasons. Some people thought living in a valley prevented it.

Other people thought because we had never had one, it was never going to happen. True, until it happened. BTW, if you think a hill or building stops a torando think again, please. Nope, not happening.

It's amazing to me with people who live in Torando Alley ,an area known for experiencing deadly tornadoes , say they were stunned because it was a beautiful day. Have a plan. Try it out from time to time.

It may have started out as a beautiful day but weather is subject to a lot of different factors. You get the right conditions and you can get a torando. No matter where you live. We say, Don't be scared, be prepared.

It's why you pay attention to the weather reports on a regular basis. i check the storm prediction center and local weather both.

I watch a couple people who cover severe weather. There are people in their chat rooms asking, what do i do and they're scared out of their wits. They're in a panic. A little bit of prep would have gone a long way.

It''s always puzzling to me where i see video of people driving around oblivious to the weather. Here's a twister heading their direction, debris is flying around and the rain is coming down so hard there's barely any visibility. Why on earth are they even out and about?

On the other hand i see video of people who are prepared and they are already with their kids in their safe spot, basement or shelter ready to roll! They know exactly what's coming and what to do. Sure they're a little scared-that's natural-but they're also fairly calm.

Does this make sense? Do you have any examples of your own? Feel free to share your opinion in the comment section. You're also welcome to share information here or use any as long as it's not anti Trump.

As of now our intel agencies are not up to the task. Sometimes the analysis is lacking. Biden has weaponized the agencies against the wrong people. It's not helping.

They haven't been up to the task for a long time and now they're distracted with nonsense. MAGA or Ultra MAGA is not a threat. We're not domestic terrorists. Those people are coming through our porous border. Some of those people are already here.

This is a short documentary on the Spanish flue and some of the lessons we learned in dealing with contagious diseases.

i think it's the mindset they probably brought to the Covid pandemic.

Here's hoping they're more prepared for the next one.Someday we can take a look at how Obama handled the SARS outbreak.
