The `1st question people would probably ask me is whether i had the vaccine or not. My answer would usually be that it's a private matter;but i'm way past that so I will be forthcoming. No, i did not and my husband supported the decision. He did get the vax plus a booster and i supported his decision. He did what i would tell anyone if they asked for my opinion. Talk to YOUR pcp about YOUR situation and YOUR medical history. Don't look at me. 1. i'm not a dr. 2 we're 2 different people and what applies to me may not apply to you. Now that we've got the vax question out of the way i want to talk about covid and related topics because it may come up in this election year;the primary and the general. In my WP blog i only brought it up at most 5x simply because it's a political blog and i didn't want Covid to be a political topic. Same here. This is the first and last time i will ever post an entry re the topic.
Will stick to facts and if there's something i don't know i won't get into it. IF there's anything you want to dispute have at it. Please. The more we know the better.Covid did not check the party card when it hit the United States. It didn't discriminate between Dems and Rep, conservatives and libeals.
Here's the facts, as i understand them. If anything i stated is wrong leave a comment and correct it. Remember, these are facts as i understood them.
The Coronavirus is a biological weapon. It serves no other purpose. It was meant to be as deadly and contagious as possible. One fact i will NEVER dispute. It's straight up TRUE.
It was researched, designed, developed and created at the Wuhan Lab in China.
When it was first discovered the WHO downplayed it to cover up for the CCP of China.
When it hit the United States it was downplayed by Dr Fauci for 2 reasons; to provide cover for the CCP like the WHO did but he had to go one step further and provide cover for himself. He was funding GOF research of the virus at the WUHAN lab and he was hoping not to get caught.
Dr Fauci had been the director of the CDC for years so he would be the one to go to re the virus.
It turned into a full blown pandemic.Neither the WHO or Fauci could down play it anymore. Fauci changed course along with the protocols he recommended. He had to-you can't tell people they're not seeing what they're seeing.
They kept telling us we had to 'flatten the curve". Maybe i'm wrong but i think a lot of people took that to mean stop the virus. That wouldn't be acheivable. The genie was out of the bottle.
It meant we had to make sure we didn't overwhelm the hospitals and our health care system in general. Anotherwords, keep it from spreading as much as possible.
8. What did we have to go on? Not much. We didn't know, what we didn't know [to quote Rumsfeld*].You need data and that takes time and reliable studies.
What about herd immunity? From what i understood that threshold was very high so the next question would have to be;how many people would we be willing to sacrifice to achieve herd immunity?
What percentage of a community needs to be immune in order to achieve herd immunity? It varies from disease to disease. The more contagious a disease is, the greater the proportion of the population that needs to be immune to the disease to stop its spread.
The follow up question would be the most important one; could natural herd immunity for Covid be acheived? Read the article. Tell me what YOU think. i didn't know how to interpret the findings the Mayo clinic reported. For that matter i hadn't read any contradictory findings; i'm not going to comment on something i'm not sure of.
i'm trying to build up my own immune system with a one daily vitamin, Vitamin D and a product called Immuno Blast which is a chewable tablet (i believe it is Vitamin C).
Covid became a full blown epidemic and reached the United States. Pres Trump had to speak to the nation and walk a fine line. How do you let the American people know we're dealing with a dangerous virus so they take it seriously but not throw them into panic either? i wouldn't have wanted to be in his shoes and do that one. It couldn't have been easy.
i never gave much credence to the masks for preventing infection but i'm meticulous when it comes to washing my hands(always did anyway)& staying away from sick people-common sense,Covid or no Covid.
As for Pres Trump and his response i will say only a few things here. When the Governors needed anything he made sure they got it irregardless of party. He was ready to send help to whoever asked for it. He left most of the decisions to the states.
He appointed his VP, Mike Pence, as head of a pandemic task force and relegated the day to day decision making to him and the force.
Covid was a pretty wicked curve ball that got thrown at our President. The economy was booming and the world was relatively peaceful. i believe he made the decisions he had to make. i think he was getting worn out with Dr Fauci though. Eventually the truth made its way to the news. Dr Fauci had been funding GOF research at WUHAN for the CCP.He should have immediately resigned from the CDC.IF he refused to resign, then he should have been fired.
IMHO and this time it's opinion only, the people who are responsible for the deadly virus are the members of the CCP in China, especially it's leader President XI.The WHO didn't help with their dishonesty;what a lack of concern for human life. I would never trust them again. Finally, Dr. Fauci who funded gain of function research of the Coronavirus at Wuhan. The Covid deaths and destruction falls squarely on the shoulders of all those people.
* Donald Rumsfeld’s famous remark about ‘known unknowns’ was a response to questions about intelligence reports that failed to back his assertion that Iraq was supplying weapons of mass destruction.
Critics said the 12 February 2002 comment was an attempt to dismiss the lack of justification for military action.
Rumsfeld warned of “unknown unknowns” — things “we don’t know we don’t know.”“If one looks throughout the history of our country and other free countries, it is [these] ... that tend to be the difficult ones,” he said.
Then VP Biden and Pres XiJinping of China
Pres Trump and Pres Xi Jinping of China
