We've moved. It all began in my hometown. We were renting when i rec'd a letter of preapproval to buy a home.I would have disregarded except that a nice little 800 sq foot home came up for sale.
It had a fenced in large backyard. Perfect for our dogs. The house itself was in good shape. It was 2 bedroom with plenty of space as small as it was.
We couldn't get financing at the time but with some work our scores would come up enough.
The owner let us rent and work on our credit. It wasn't poor but it still wasn't good enough for us to get approved at any bank.
We went back to the individual who sent us the pre approval and he was supposed to work at getting the financing for us.The realtor was patient. We were patient.
The owner of the house was not. He couldn't afford to be. He had already bought his new home.
We stayed for 2 yrs as it sat on the market and had showings now and then. Well, eventually the right people showed up;long story short, they bought it.We had to move.
There wasn't a single place in the hometown. We were forced into moving out of town.
The realtor wasn't happy and neither were we.We were scammed after our hopes had been so high. We could have stayed put too.We would never have looked at the house if we had known.
After the handshake with our new landlord (no lease)and the arrangements for a 15 ft u haul plus movers the realtor came by with another gentleman.
The man had tenants who were terrible at paying rent and he wanted new/reliable tenants who wanted to do rent to own.
Would we come by and have a look?If he had stopped in a couple weeks earlier we sure would have, but the day before we were leaving was obviously poor timing. We had to say no.
The decent 1k square foot home had turned up out of town and it fit the budget. We ended up living there for 15 yrs. until the day the landlord unexpectedly and tragically passed away.
He lefthis assets to his brother who wanted to sell. Here we were all over again and nowhere to go again. We had to move out of town.
In the same time period someone who lived close to us flipped out. The individual had problems on on top of which he was using drugs.
It was no wonder he flipped. We had to call the police. The situation almost warranted the swat team.
The police insisted we get out and sit in the ambulance they had called. We had to wrap up in blankets and leave our dog. We sat in the ambulance out front for 2 hr while they tried to make arrangements with a hotel.
Then the driver and emts were told to move so we went down the road to the local firehouse. The police were concerned they'd have to open fire or the perp would do something crazy and in their words, "bullets go through walls."
They couldn't get a hotel so they called a friend of ours. She took us in.What a way to go in our final time at the house.
They arrested and cuffed him at 3:00 pm the next day and we went home the same way we left.Ambulance.
The police did a super job of handling the situation and we were thankful they didn't end up using the swat team.
The negotiations with him didn't work but they chose to wait him out anyway rather than use the swat team. They blocked off the street and officers stood by the house.
The second he set foot outside they grabbed him. We were told the court gave him 3 options; a mental health facility, drug rehab or jail. I'm sure he took one of the first 2 options.
Now we've gone from a 3 bedroom, basement and garage to a one bedroom apartment in another town. We used to leave our doors open. Now we have a lock and a dead bolt. We signed a 1 yr lease.
It was not a great choice but we had no time left or enough money to keep searching.[Every application cost anwhere from 20-40 for each of us.(Non refundable with no guarantees of getting the place].
We were approved (for a change)and took it. i'm ready to get out now. The husband is not interested.i think he actually likes this place.I'm ready to break the lease and leave. It's not working for us but he will not admit it; he wants to make it work.
Don't get me wrong. It's a nice place. It was well taken care of. The landlord is a decent guy. The rent is reasonable. Still, it does have some shortcomings that wouldn't hurt if we were younger.
I'm still in a wheel chair with a bum knee. Husband was supposed to have a turp. He's backed out and is hoping for other options. He's been through enough so i don't blame him one bit.
Two strokes and one open heart surgery for a mitral valve issue then the 2 of us having covid-we're done.
I have yet to let personal dealings get in the way of things i am most passionate about. In fact, for the longest time i've given a lot of consideration to getting into a podcast.
Seems like everyone is doing one these days. It will definitely be politics-getting Trump re-elected the main goal. I just don't want it be redundant; a copy cat of every other story.
There's plenty of good articles, honest to God journalism and brilliant podcasts out there. I also have to find a decent camera and mic to get started. We may have the money if our utilities stay low enough.
Unfortunately i have to start out in our new apartment buying a few necessities such as a sofa, cabinet, storage etc. before i can do anything else.
My most treasured books came up missing too. I had a signed copy of The Democrat Party Hates America by Mark Levin. I had Laptop from Hell and American Marxism, also by Mark Levin. No signatures but brand new.
I swear i've gone through every box a dozen times. Yet to see them. It joins the other missing items somewhere in a mountain of stacked boxes.
You have guessed right that i've become resigned to my fate and husband's stubborness even when he knows i'm probably right.
i kind of owe him this one. I persuaded him to try and buy that house back when and if not for that we wouldn't even be here. One thing led to another.
I can't believe how much things have changed since our first move. We never had to pay for an application;most of the time you didn't have to do one. You can go broke just doing applications because it's you and 50 other people trying for the same place.
The brother let us go rent free for one month but we had no assurance we wouldn't have had to pay another months rent if we had continued looking around. We couldn't afford to do both.
Do problems like this keep me up at night? Nope. Joe Biden destroying America has me very concerned. Now the government has a scheme going on to get us under the digital currency of their choice.
You don't have to grasp the details to know that it's a terrible idea. You know exactly why they're doing it. You know what the consequences will be for our freedom.
They've got the border open to get new voters and solidify their power. We're being invaded. They're using lawfare in the court system to try and get Biden's opponent out ala the former Soviet Union or current Russian leadership.
Chances are if Trump wins they'll resort to violence and we're going to have to be prepared. We can't let their threats intimidate us and influence our vote.
You want to vote for Trump;you vote for Trump. All I'm saying is, be prepared. We don't have to get caught off guard.
We've come this far and made it. Trump put everything on the line knowing darned well if he threw in the towel they would leave him alone.
He refused to cave. In fact he became even more determined. So have we, i'm proud to say.
Sundance, at the Conservative TreeHouse, made this darned good point (keep it in mind)
Many people, me included, have noted the background data -hidden by most media discussion- always reflected the pragmatic MAGA movement is the majority view. There are far more of us than them, they just control the optics.
Tomorrow i'm going to post a speech given on the House floor by Chip Roy of Texas. From time to time Roy has infuriated me with some of his comments especially the ones that were anti Trump but he was 100% spot on in this speech.
He never used the word MAGA but it had to be one of the most MAGA speeches i've heard in a long time-outside of Trump's and some other MAGA warriors. He's so right it's not funny. It deserves to be shared.
I just stopped by tonight to note that i've had a lot of consequential things, some tragic as well, happen in my life the past few years. Our move was definitely out of the blue.
We said our last move would be our last move. [We're not getting younger].
As noted it wasn't. This one was quite upsetting for a number of reasons. However, i had to note that the survival of our Republic and the election of Donald Trump this year is still my top priority irregardless of what is going on in my personal life .
