UPFRONT: I did not watch the most recent debate. In fact i have not watched any of the debates. IMHO they're a waste of time. Always the usual.
I did see the sound byte that caused the stir but that was on X (formerly known as Twitter). There wasn't one person on that debate stage i would cast a vote for.
The one decent person on there was Sen Tim Scott but as decent as he is, he's just too weak to be President. He is a very nice person and a good Senator but i can't picture him in the oval office with everything that is going on.
Another words if he were the nominee, yes i would vote for him over the Democrat.
IF it were any of the other people i'd have think real hard about it and probably end up plugging my nose like i did for Romney and McCain. There's a lot at stake this time.I would be tempted not to vote at all if it weren't Trump except the price would be too high to pay. I supported Herman Cain and Gov Huckabee during the other 2 races. They were on our ballot so i voted for them in the primary; and the other 2 (REGRETFULLY) in the general.
After those 2 i said i would never plug my nose and vote again. Our country is in too much trouble now to throw it to a Dem, especially if it's Biden. The other candidates ought to drop out, endorse Trump and get this battle moving.
Now For Vivek
The sound byte from Vivek lit a fire and made the rounds on the internet. Here we go again; people got all starry eyed.
The reason he was dropping down in the polls is his crappy policy ideas.
He had some good ones-too many lousy ones. He just doesn't have a clue. He knows enough to say what MAGA wants to hear and that in itself is not to be trusted.
He was shrewd enough to know not to directly attack Trump- he's subtle about it- but if he really thought he was such a great President why would he run against him? i've caught his low key swipes at Trump though; if you pay close attention you can pick em up.
He got a couple sound bytes in there like they try to get for the debates. They're always rehearsed before they use them. Sometimes they do the job and sometimes they fail. The trick is to make sure they don't come off as rehearsed.
There was one sound byte in particular that apparently stood out and that was the attack on the RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel and the liberal moderator.
People were star struck. Here we go; he's right up there with President Trump. So what else do these people know about Ramaswampy? Not much. Some of his policies are cringe. We're going to take a look at his background too.
Some of his policies are good but nothing new under the sun. His call for Ronna to resign have been brewing for some time. The recent election results put a spot light on her.
He knew this attack was going to get a rise out of people. It did. Does it qualify him to be the nominee, the front runner or President of the United States? Nope.Hard pass.
Can we stop going star struck over people because they say the right things? It's easy to copy Trump. He's already served and we know where he stands on all the issues. One good sound byte is not a qualification.
Here's facts about Vivek a lot of people probably don't know and keep in mind, i did NOT write this piece. Can't claim it's biased.i don't care that he's Hindu. That's his business. It's all the other issues that are reason enough not to vote for him.
When looking at potential candidates running for office without a voting record to base judgment on, I look for red flags. To me, voting records are the best indicators. I knew exactly who Mitt Romney and Ted Cruz were when they ran for president due to known quantities, which was the reason I did not vote for Romney and did vote for Cruz in the primaries. Without voting records, candidates can say anything they wish, without a single vote to prove anything. This is the political unknown where Vivek Ramaswamy comes from. Beyond being a Hindu, which in my mind means that Ramaswamy cannot hold the Judeo-Christian views this nation was founded on, there are serious red flags that attach him to Soros. In 2011, Ramaswamy was the beneficiary of the Soros Fellowship, which was used help cover the costs at Yale for a future law degree. His connection to anything Soros related raises serious red flags, especially with Ramaswamy never bringing up that connection. And it seems that his ties to Soros have continued beyond 2011: Through a link at the Soros Fellowship on news and events for 2020: “Roivant Sciences announced today that it is working with regulators in the United States and around the world to advance the clinical development of Gimsilumab, an anti-body that could prevent and treat acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), which has been widely connected to the COVID-19 virus. 2011 Paul & Daisy Soros Fellow Vivek Ramaswamy, the child of immigrants from India, is the CEO and founder of Roivant Sciences.” The Soros Fellowship articles involving past recipients do not include everything they later do. What they show is what the Fellowship views as important, which is what Soros and his house believes. Ramaswamy’s involvement with COVID-19 is important to Soros, which provides a link between the two. According to Forbes, and numerous other sites, Roivant Sciences is a biotechnology firm Ramaswamy started. His work in connection with COVID-19 places him on an equally questionable level as the Soros ties, even if they are not Soros-financed. Most candidates tend to ignore past events, like Gov. Ron DeSantis is doing regarding the COVID shutdowns in Florida. What they do not do well is pay to have the internet scrubbed to remove information. No one can truly scrub the internet. But based on what they can do, it make finding information more difficult. That is what Ramaswamy has done with his Soros connections. The article refers to Wikipedia, but has a dead link on the Soros Fellowship site, regarding an announcement from Ramaswamy’s company related to COVID-19. Regarding a biotech podcast Ramaswamy was on, there is another dead link. There is a summary of what was spoken about, which gives more clues about who he really is. “Meet Vivek Ramaswamy. He’s the 34-year-old CEO of Roivant Sciences, a biopharma working on a therapeutic to treat the COVID-19 cytokine storm (among many other drugs) and member of Ohio’s coronavirus task force… the “holy grail” in COVID-19 breakthroughs would be a universal, widely available, safe, and effective vaccine, he says—but “our national strategy can't be predicated on it… “ Ramaswamy did not relay any caution about using them by anyone. He believed in them being universal, which means people of all ages. The scrubbing of his connection to Ohio Coronavirus Task Force raises a separate red flag. Those of us living in Ohio knew our governor carried out an almost identical shutdown as Democrat governors. The members of the task force, which included Ramaswamy, told the governor to shut down, which he did. For me, it is clear Vivek Ramaswamy is not who he is claiming to be, today. Scrubbing the internet as best he can of his links to Soros and his work on COVID-19 proves that he cannot be trusted. I will not vote for him in the primary due to numerous issues I have with him beyond his Soros and COVID-19 ties. Had there been only the Soros connection, that would have been enough to not vote for him.

It wasn't that long ago people were getting starry eyed over Tulsi Gabbard after her 'peformance' at the DNC debate and some Fox News appearances.
While i agree with Ms Gabbard on the question of military use that's as far as it goes. She knew that during the 2020 election; opposing endless wars is a winner.
It appeals to the MAGA base. It's all she ever focused on though. She was a single topic candidate. 'I am Tulsi Gabbard and I oppose wars'. Got it. She's still a Democrat. She's still a liberal. Let's not forget she voted to impeach Trump.
I do hope Ronna McDaniel steps down. It's too bad McConnell didn't step down too. It would help the Republican brand a lot as long as his surrogates don't replace him. It would be a plus for the Senate [we could use one]if Kari Lake won her bid for Senate.
We don't need Mitch 2.0. i don't know what it is but anyone that begins their name with an Mc has been bad news.I'll give Vivek props for bringing it up and nailing her and the lying media even if it was contrived.
However, that's it. That's as far as i can go with him. None of the candidates on the stage were great. It wouldn't be hard to dig their hole deeper. Some more than others.
Haley shouted that Vivek is scum. i'm sure she doesn't think that for the same reasons i do. It was more likely because he attacked her and she was there to score brownie points.
If anyone has ties to George Soros, his family or any of his organizations they are scum.
To All Veterans, Thank you for your service and sacrifice especially in countries that didn't appreciate you at all and that's probably more of them than not. We do! Let's never take our freedom for granted.
