What's In Store For 24?

We have 1 yr to go before the election. Didn't think it would ever get here. Now we can count down the days till we get the idiot out of office and put Pres Trump back in.

We all better get out to vote or it won't happen! We can't take anything for granted. Besides, the larger the vote, the louder our voice. We have to send a message-so let's make history this time.

Now there are things in my life that need some work. Not everything is about politics (though it's very important this time around)nor should it be. I have several things i need to spend more time doing.

For one, prayer. I was praying the rosary every night for the longest time and now i seem to be letting myself get tied up with other activities. It's not that i don't have the time. I need to take the time.

The other thing i need to do is pick up one of the good books i have and spend some time reading. I don't spend the time i used to spend with a good book.

Last but not least, I've wanted to start a podcast for the longest time. I talk about it to my husband all the time but haven't lifted a finger yet. It's not going to get started that way.

Unfortunately our landlord passed away a little over a month ago. The house went to his brother and he's going to sell it. We have to move.

We've been here at least 10 yr (or longer). I'm on a search for a new place and it's not going well at all. I've run into too small, too large, too expensive and mostly too few.

We probably ought to start saving for a good tent. We kid about that but it's always worked out in the end. We've always found a home where we needed to be at any particular time.

This is the 2nd time we've rented a house the owners decided to sell. The first time wasn't a surprise. It was expected. We never gave any thought to the more recent circumstance that came up. I was sure our landlord would have outlived us.

I should be getting our belongings packed soon whether we have a place lined up or not. It's not a job you want to do at the last minute.

We've had to do that before and now we have even more 'stuff.' It's amazing what you can collect over a short period of time.

If you would have told me we'd be packing up again at 71 i'd have laughed my butt off. Now i feel like a nomad.

The worst part of 2023 was losing my friend "Portia" (her nickname). Her husband called to tell me. My heart sank.I have not be able to pick it up since. She was an incredible person and my dearest friend.

It was not the phone call i expected to get.Shocked. Her husband sounded terrible.I think he was in shock too.He came home and found her.

i wish we had spoken that week. She told me she wasn't feeling well 2 weeks prior. I respected her wishes not to call her. She wasn't up to it. I knew when she got on her feet she would call me.

She never called. I regret not picking up the phone and calling her anyway.

This was her favorite music; from the movie Exodus.

Beautiful (for you Portia)the original soundtrack
