Normally a brutal primary is the way to go. You can have too many candidates in a primary..Some people may not think so- i do.The 2008 primary had it about right and there were candidates from a broad spectrum of Republicans. I supported Herman Cain 100%. He was a precursor to Trump. It was great to support a candidate outside politics who succeeded in the private sector. They forced him out.God rest his soul. When he suspended his campaign it was heartbreaking. i so loved the guy and had a lot of respect for him. i can't believe he beat cancer and died from Covid.
Just like they've been trying to do to Trump. He's not one to give in or give up to anyone. They picked on the wrong person and he started an unstoppable movement called MAGA. We'll talk about the 'they' in the near future. You know exactly who i''m referring to. No explanation necessary.
Then you look at the primary of 2016 and there were so many Republican candidates it was mind boggling. The bottom tier was a waste of time. Can you remember who all ran that year other than the few at the top? What do you remember most about that election?
i believe if you have a handful of good candidates you can make a better choice and stand the best chance of winning. The 2016 Republican primary had a total of 17 candidates in the end. It was ridiculous.i remember the early thinking was that it was going to be a Clinton-Bush rematch. Enter the disrupter, thank God!
This time around it's a whole different situation. Honestly, most of the candidates running in the Republican primary have a snowballs chance in hell of winning the nomination. I'm not sure why they're even running. The GOP is out of touch with their base.
The 2 that might(big might) even get any traction at all should just drop out and endorse Trump.
I know the GOP elites wanted a MAGA candidate without Trump-the MAGA leader who started our movement-but the whole idea is so stupid only they could think of it.
The bottom line is that there isn't a single candidate that can win without the MAGA base and we're not voting anyone BUT Trump.
